The meaning of Ritual in dream | Dream interpretation
Depth Psychology: Watching rituals: try to be less formal in your everyday dealings and don’t use empty phrases. See Ceremony.
A ritual is any activity that is imbued with a deep intention and is often a symbol for something in and of itself.
If your dream feels like it has a ritualistic sensibility, there may be a call to turn to the more spiritual side of your nature and the part of life that feels mysterious. Some dreams that feature ritual settings feel dark or scary and may reflect feeling overwhelmed by things you don’t readily understand.

1- Rituals can range from the ‘sublime to the ridiculous’. They are actions which are repeated over and over again in order to achieve a certain result.
2- Such rituals as getting up in the morning, because they are habits, simply have the purpose of getting us focused. Religious rituals have taken on a life of their own and help concentrate the power of the many. Magical rituals have become ‘power centres’ in their own right.
3- Spiritually we are able to focus our energies in such a way that we can work for the Greater Good.
Dreams of a ritual are auspicious and fortuitous as they signify that you are evoking the sacred within yourself, acknowledging the power of the mystical and magical that is inherent within ordinary moments. Your dream is giving you the message to take care of yourself as you emerge into this next phase of your life. See Ceremony, Rite of Passage and Medicine Wheel.
If the piece of ritual is not commonplace (a handshake, for instance) but dramatic and solemn, it is almost certainly symbolic of some process of personal development that you should now be committing yourself to and which may involve a relinquishing of old attitudes.
On the surface, it points to habitual behavior, even though rituals are important and bring deeper meaning to life. This symbol can be pointing to something that has become rigid, as well as to something lively and meaningful. See Rule, Wealth.
Rituals symbolize transitions in life. Also, they make up a representation that invites you to escape the limits imposed but the conscience. In this sense, you can enjoy the wide world of your imagination. According to Carl Jung’s studies, in dreams, images of fertility rites emerge in the collective subconscious. In this manner, the dream tries to separate the subconscious from the conscience so that you can connect with your most instinctive you.
Shamanic rituals bring the individual to a state where the dreamer develops prophetic and clairvoyant powers. So, it is recommended to take note of the dreams upon waking, in case they contained premonitory information.
This dream may represent one’s commitment to an ideal or to a relationship.
It is symbolic of a ceremony that may be expressing the dreamer’s change in attitudes or some other major change in their life.
