Dreams of cutting and pasting symbolize that you are editing, organizing and rearranging your thoughts and maybe even your life. You are in the process of discerning who and what to keep and what and who to eliminate.
(Affront; Attract attention; Criticize; Excavate; Probe; Sideswipe; Stir up) Digging up the past in a dream means an argument or exposing one’s dirty laundry, blocking the road, earning unlawful money, or it could mean excavating hidden valuables, reviving past knowledge or discovering a treasure. Digging up the past and not confrontinganyone with it in a dream means relief from distress or receiving glad tidings. (Also see Court)
lives While there may be some evidence for reincarnation in the work of Dr Ian Stevenson, dreams which clearly state reincarnation in their theme most likely represent present life situations.
Example: ‘I dream of living in China, a long time ago. I was married to a man with whom I had two children. He began to tire of me and brought concubines into our household. I hated him. When I woke I realised I had dreamt about a past life’ (Patricia L). Patricia had in fact been married to a man in this life who, after her two children were born, began to bring other women home. This broke up their marriage. From Patricia’s point of view, this happened because in a past life her husband and she had not resolved their difficulties, so had to meet them again in this lifetime—whatsoever ye sow, so shall ye reap. Where such dreams have been thoroughly explored, I have found that their imagery arises from emotions and trauma which the dreamer finds difficult to meet. Placing it in a past life enables one to avoid the difficulty of experiencing present life pain. Patricia says she hated her Chinese husband.
The dream process can create a drama to represent our present situation using any form of structure. It is, after all, the master dramatist. This function of the unconscious explains many ‘past life’ memories elicited by hypnotic regression. Most of them are explainable in terms of present life trauma or situation. See hallucination, hallucinogens.
Dreams of the past are usually about learning from experience. Your mind could be trying to show you what worked or didn’t in the past, so you can change your behavior and be happier in the present. In general, if you dream of a time in the past when you were younger, it signifies that you will not be able to regain lost opportunities, even if you try very hard. It is time to move on and forget what cannot be changed.
Vision: Looking at pasta: somebody is boring you, or your life right now is pretty dull! Buying or cooking pasta: dull people are coming to visit. Eating pasta: you are annoyed about a visit you have to make—which also turns out to be very boring. Dreaming about Italian pasta: see Italy.
Depth Psychology: Dreaming about pasta is usually a sign of unfulfilled sexual needs—or maybe you’re fasting or on a diet and you’re actually just hungry!
To see a pastor in your dream, or dream that you are a pastor, suggest that you need to be more compassionate and understanding in some situation or relationship. Alternatively, it indicates that you have overstepped your boundaries and invaded another person’s rights.
Vision: Seeing a pastor: your constant “preaching”—or telling people what to do all the time—is making you increasingly unpopular. Being the pastor: even if it is difficult, have the courage to admit or confess to something you have done. Speaking with a pastor: you are feeling guilty about something—come clean and reduce the pressure.
Vision: Seeing animals in a green pasture: your life is going well—you will prosper. Seeing a willow tree: You need to remain steadfast now, but “bend like a willow tree” at the right time. Seeing a weeping willow: a friend is very sad and pours her heart out to you. Pussy willows: your life is peaceful; be satisfied (humble).
Depth Psychology: Why are you so “flexible” and accommodating? Are you hiding feelings of inferiority? Do you have so little confidence in yourself? Don’t you trust yourself? Do you always take the easy way out? Your “adaptability” is too extreme. You need to change that! See Reed.

Toothpaste may also bnng a literal message, commenting that you had better brush your teeth more regularly because you have bad breath.
