The lion as a Christian symbol stands for the domestication of the non-believers. In Northern Europe, the lion was replaced by the Bear. According to early Christian and medieval imagination, the lion used his tail to erase his footprints so that he could not be followed and found. It has also been said that lions sleep with their eyes open. And when a lioness gives birth, the young are initially born dead until three days later, when the male lion appears and blows in the face of the young. This gave rise to the idea of the lion as a symbol for awakening and vitality. In Christian fables, it is also depicted as the cunning animal.

The lion is, as “king of beasts,” the terrestrial opponent of the eagle in the sky. Because of its wildness, according to Jung, it represents the latent passions and may appear as a signal of the danger of being devoured by the unconscious. In oneiric terms, the lion embodies power, pride, and justice, but often appears as a tyrannical being, cruel and insatiable. It could stand in for a father, teacher, judge, or boss. Therefore, depending on their behavior, the dream will be positive or negative. We frequently dream about fighting this animal to his death. This scene represents triumph over the world; if the lion is threatening, you are victim of your own instincts and passions, whereas if you face it and conquer it, you will reach your goal. To dream of a family of lions promises joy and good family relationships (See AUTHORITY and TAMING)

Pride, generosity, and ambition are the characteristics of the fifth sign of the zodiac: a sign of fire, solar, masculine, king by vocation and actor in each stage of life. According to astrology, the sign of Leo likes to be the center of attention; so perhaps your dream is warning you that you are too self-centered and narcissistic. In the Tarot, the Lion card symbolizes strength that can be controlled by the sweetness (the figure of a woman dressed in white).
